Let's talk Eyelash Extensions...

I am hearing more women talking about getting individual eyelash extension for their wedding day.

There are some things you need to know before doing that...

Make sure to book an appointment months ahead of time. Just like you for a hair or makeup trial, do the same for the eyelash extensions. You never know if you will be allergic to the products used or if they will even work for you.(Not everyone qualifies for lash extensions). You don't want to walk down the aisle with swollen eyes.

Make sure you do your research. Believe it or not there are people out there who may not be trained properly. Some states required you to have a cosmetology licenses or be a certified nurse. Ask to see their certification if it's not displayed.

Once you have your appointment booked with your certified lash technician so good tips to remember for your appointment.

Try to arrive without any eye makeup. Even though your lash technician will clean your lashes (that will eat into your time for your appointment). Any eye makeup residue can result in a problem for your lashes to adhere to the natural lash.

NO caffeine that day. Believe it or not but caffeine can make some people jittery even with your eyes closed.

Take headphones. You'll need to lay in one spot for almost 3 hours for a full set of lashes. Most people fall asleep.

Use the bathroom. 3 Hours can be a long time and I don't know about you, but when someone tells me I can't do something that's all I think about.

Well now that you have your lashes on lets talk about some tips for aftercare.

DO NOT got to the gym or take a steaming hot shower. Sweat will loosen the bond of the adhesive.

DO NOT use waterproof makeup or any oil based makeup as that will also loosen the adhesive. You can buy water based mascara on line or ask your lash technician if she sells any. No liquid liner, use only powder eyeshadows and liner use a pencil. When washing your face, remember to check what your eye makeup remover has in it (NO OIL BASED). One product I have found that is great is Makeup Eraser (can be found on), just remember not to use pressure when removing your eye makeup.

Also do not rub your eyes. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you get the lashes wet or go to the gym. You spent money on your lashes to look good DO NOT ruin them.

INDIVIDUAL EYELASH EXTENSIONS ARE SEMI PERMANENT. They will grow out with your natural lash. Get refills in between your full sets. Remember your lashes will look gorgeous after your done.
